DCI supplied a complete gypsum board production line with an annual output of 15 million m² in Morocco, delivered on a turnkey basis and in production since 2024. This gypsum board production line in Morocco runs at 24 m/min on a ten-deck dryer, and it forms part of a three-line project package that also includes a 300,000 t/year gypsum powder plant and a 3 million m²/year lamination line.

DCI's standard board line models run from 2 to 20 million m² per year in seven steps. At 15 million m²/year this line is the second largest in that ladder: line speed 24 m/min against 28 m/min on the 20 million model, and the same ten-deck dryer.
That position makes this capacity practical for a supplier serving a national market. It has the running speed and dryer capacity to hold volume through a full order book, without the building length and capital commitment of the largest model.
A gypsum board making machine is only one part of the scope. The line runs from raw material reception to packed board, and at 24 m/min every section has to be sized to keep up with the forming station.
Section | Function |
Raw material handling | Stucco silo, metering and additive dosing |
Mixing | Mixer with optimised stirring disc and reduced slurry residence time; foam injected at the discharge port |
Forming | Shaping machine for vertical edges, flat surface and uniform thickness, with setting belt |
Foaming | Dynamic foaming system producing fine, adjustable bubbles for board density control |
Paper supply | Hydraulic paper roll stand with automatic joint and cross convey device; design speed 0–150 m/min, maximum roll weight 3 t |
Cutting | Cross-cutting to board length after setting |
Drying | Ten-deck dryer with direct-combustion hot air stove, PLC controlled |
Finishing | Edge trim, board turning, dunnage saw and automatic stack packing |
Control | Siemens PLC full-automatic control system |

Technical data are taken from DCI's standard configuration for the 15 million m²/year capacity class and the product catalogue. Final configuration is confirmed against the customer's site conditions and raw material.
The line uses a direct-combustion hot air stove, with the burner mounted inside the air duct and the fan outside it. Combustion is direct with no heat exchange device, which puts gas use efficiency close to 100%. The stove wall is high-temperature stainless steel and the adjustment ratio is above 1:10, so the same gypsum board dryer can hold a stable drying curve across different board thicknesses and line speeds.
Fuel can be natural gas, heavy oil, coal or diesel. The fuel actually used at this plant is not recorded in DCI's public project data and is not stated here; the choice is settled during design against what is available and economical at the site.
The line produces paper-faced gypsum board for interior walls, ceilings and fire-rated partitions. By adjusting formulation and additives — fiberglass for fire-resistant board and silicone oil for water-resistant board — the same plasterboard production line can switch between regular, moisture-resistant and fire-resistant board without a second line.
A 15 million m²/year capacity allows one plant to supply a national distribution network while keeping the flexibility to run different board types on the same equipment. Local production also replaces imported board and shortens supply lead times.
This drywall production line is one of three DCI supplied for the same Moroccan project package. Alongside it, DCI delivered a 300,000 t/year gypsum powder production line — the largest powder line DCI has built — and a 3 million m²/year gypsum board lamination line.
Taken together the three cover the route from raw gypsum through to finished PVC laminated ceiling tiles: the powder line calcines the stucco, the board line forms and dries the board, and the lamination line turns board into ceiling tiles. That is what a turnkey gypsum plant means in practice — one supplier for the process chain rather than three suppliers meeting at a battery limit.
Gypsum plant installation and commissioning on a line of this size typically takes 4–6 months on site, covering mechanical erection, electrical and PLC work, cold and hot trial runs, and operator training. DCI engineers remain on site until the line reaches its rated output and the local team can operate it independently.
The project carries a one-year warranty from acceptance, remote technical support, and continuing supply of spare parts, wear parts and production raw materials — modified starch, foaming agent, glue, fiberglass, edge banding and facing paper.
Q: What capacity was delivered for this project?
A: 15 million m² per year, running at 24 m/min on a ten-deck dryer.
Q: What board sizes can the line produce?
A: Thickness 7–20 mm, width 1200–1220 mm and length 2400–3600 mm, adjustable.
Q: What board types does it make?
A: Regular, moisture-resistant and fire-resistant paper-faced gypsum board, by changing the additive package.
Q: Who carried out the installation and commissioning?
A: DCI sent its own engineers to site. They supervised mechanical erection, carried out electrical and PLC commissioning, ran cold and hot trials, and stayed until the line reached rated output.
Q: What standard does the board meet?
A: GB/T 9775-2008 and equivalent international standards.
Q: Can the board line and powder line be supplied together?
A: Yes. DCI supplies board, powder, block and lamination lines, and delivered the board, powder and lamination lines for this project package in Morocco.
