The dryer is the section that decides the quality of the finished board in a gypsum board line. DCI supplies a multi-deck hot air stove drying system comprising an entry section, a closing section, an exit section and a hot air circulation system, divided into two areas each with separate hot air circulation. High-temperature gas from the heating supply system mixes with the circulating air and is driven into the closing section by the circulating fan. The direct-fired stove has no heat exchanger, giving close to 100% gas utilisation, with a turndown ratio above 1:10. Dryer decks range from 4 at 2 million m²/year to 10 at 15 million m²/year and above.
The dryer is the most important section of a gypsum board production line, and the link that decides the quality of the finished board. DCI supplies the drying system as part of a complete gypsum board production line from 2 to 50 million m² per year, with the number of dryer decks set by the capacity tier. Drying is carried out in a hot air stove drying system.

The dryer consists of an entry part, a closing part, an exit part and a hot air circulation system. Its number of layers and its length depend on the board capacity being produced.
The system is divided into two areas, each with its own separate hot air circulation. After the mixing room, the high-temperature gas generated by the heating supply system mixes with the circulating air in the duct, is driven into the closing part by the circulating fan, and dries the wet gypsum boards. The board runs slowly through the drying system so that it is dried evenly.
The line uses a direct-fired hot air stove, or a dual-fuel hot air stove where more than one fuel is available on site. In the direct-fired design, the burner sits inside the air duct with the fan outside it, which suits the high-temperature, high-humidity conditions of board drying. The flame is short and the temperature is stable.
Combustion is direct, with no heat exchanger, so gas utilisation is close to 100% and power consumption is low. The stove wall is high-temperature stainless steel. A two-fan layout is used, one running and one on standby. Temperature sensors are fitted, and the actuator and stepless frequency control give a turndown ratio greater than 1:10.
The number of dryer decks rises with the capacity tier, so that the additional board is dried without slowing the line:

The dryer length follows the number of decks and the line speed. This is why the factory dimensions can be confirmed only after the capacity tier is fixed.
The line produces board from 7 to 20 mm thick, in widths of 1200 or 1220 mm and lengths from 2400 to 3600 mm. Output meets GB/T 9775-2008 or an equivalent international standard. By adjusting the formulation and additives, the same line can produce standard board, moisture-resistant board with silicone oil, and fire-resistant board with fibreglass.
Gypsum powder is the main raw material, together with facing paper, modified starch, foaming agent and glue. Fuel options for the drying system are natural gas, heavy oil, coal and diesel, selected against the energy available and economical at the project site.
The drying system is supplied as part of the complete line, so its cost is carried in the line price rather than quoted separately. A complete gypsum board production line is quoted from USD 180,000 to USD 8,500,000 FOB China, depending on the capacity tier, the number of dryer decks, the fuel system, the automation level and the scope of supply. We issue a firm quotation once the capacity, raw material, fuel and site conditions are confirmed.
Installation and commissioning take about 4 to 6 months. DCI engineers attend site for mechanical installation, electrical commissioning and trial production, and remain until the line reaches design capacity. Operator and maintenance training is carried out during commissioning. The line carries one year of warranty with remote technical support and long-term spare parts supply, and an equipment service life of 15 years or more.
