China’s Phosphogypsum Industry Enters a New Era of Diversified and High-Value Utilization

With stronger policy support and continuous technological innovation, the comprehensive utilization of phosphogypsum is showing a clear trend toward diversification and high-value development.

Local governments and enterprises are actively exploring a wide range of application scenarios, expanding from traditional uses in building materials and cement retarders to emerging fields such as packaging materials, plastic products, and coatings.

Driven by both policy and market forces, the phosphogypsum utilization industry is embracing unprecedented development opportunities.

Against this backdrop, the Institute of Technical Information for Building Materials Industry and the Gypsum Building Materials Branch of the China Building Materials Federation will jointly hold the “19th National Gypsum Technology Exchange Conference 2025” in Yidu, Hubei Province, from November 12 to 14, 2025. At the same time, the “6th Phosphogypsum Comprehensive Utilization Seminar” will also take place.

The conference will bring together experts, scholars, and industry leaders to discuss the latest technologies, policies, and market trends in phosphogypsum resource utilization, as well as explore new pathways for cross-industry integration and regional collaboration. The goal is to promote the transformation of phosphogypsum from an “industrial solid waste” into an “urban mineral resource.”
