The Core Components of a Gypsum Board Manufacturing Line

A gypsum board manufacturing machine is a complex system designed to produce plasterboards in a continuous, efficient, and consistent manner. Understanding its primary components is essential for any operation. The entire system works in a synchronized sequence to transform raw materials into finished boards.

The process begins with the preparation of raw materials. Gypsum powder is delivered from a storage silo to a mixer. Here, it is blended with water, foam, and additives to create a slurry with a specific consistency. This slurry is then evenly poured onto a moving sheet of release paper. The bottom paper unrolls and moves along the production line, while a second roll provides the top paper layer.

A critical section of the machine is the forming station. At this point, the top paper is laid over the slurry, and the assembly passes through a forming plate. This plate precisely shapes the gypsum core to the desired thickness and ensures the paper is firmly bonded to the edges. The continuous, flat board then moves forward on a conveyor.

The setting process is managed on the main conveyor line. The length of this conveyor is calculated to allow the gypsum slurry to hydrate and transition from a liquid to a solid state. The speed of the line is carefully controlled to match the setting time of the gypsum formulation.

Once set, the continuous board enters the dryer. The dryer is a long, multi-chamber oven where heated air circulates to remove the excess moisture from the gypsum core. Proper temperature control throughout the dryer is vital to ensure the boards are thoroughly dried without being damaged.

After drying, the board proceeds to the cutting and finishing section. An automatic cross-cutter trims the continuous board to the required lengths. Following this, the boards are turned over, their ends are trimmed, and they are bundled automatically. Finally, the bundled boards are moved to a storage area.
