On April 25, at the Yuntianhua Red Phosphorus Chemical Plant in Kaiyuan City, Yunnan Province, a phosphogypsum fluorine and phosphorus deep purification and resource utilization project (referred to as the Phosphogypsum Resource Utilization Project), newly developed by Shanghai Xigu Technology, successfully completed pilot-scale and industrial validation tests.
According to testing and verification conducted by third-party technical experts and the Yunnan Provincial Institute of Product Quality Supervision and Inspection, the treated wastewater achieved a stable phosphorus concentration below 1 mg/L, far exceeding the national technical standards.
This achievement marks a major breakthrough in phosphogypsum treatment technology. More importantly, through this new extraction and purification process, the recovered material can be further converted into battery-grade iron phosphate, providing a new source of high-quality raw material for China’s rapidly growing power battery industry.
This innovation-driven approach represents a significant step toward building a green circular economy, realizing the transformation of industrial waste into valuable resources, and serving as a model of new productive forces in sustainable industrial development.
